Why exact sizes matter
Every platform your photos land on assumes a shape. Shopify collection grids assume one consistent ratio; Instagram crops what doesn’t fit; link previews slice Open Graph images to 1.91:1. When the shape is wrong, the platform decides what to cut — and it doesn’t know where your product is in the frame. Sizing deliberately keeps that decision yours.

How to use it
- Pick a preset — Shopify product square, Instagram post or story, social share (OG), or your own custom pixels.
- Choose the fit. Pad on white for listings, crop center for feeds, fit inside when you just need a maximum size.
- Drop your images. Each one is resized on your device and shows its new dimensions before you download.
Three habits of catalogs that look professional
- One ratio everywhere. Square is the e-commerce default for a reason; whatever you pick, never mix.
- Product at a consistent scale. Aim for the product filling 70–90% of the frame across the catalog, so collection pages don’t look like a zoom lottery.
- Compress after resizing. Exact dimensions plus lean files is the whole recipe — run the results through the free compressor before upload.

Do my photos get uploaded?
No. Resizing happens in your browser on your own device. Files are never sent anywhere, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
What's the difference between pad, crop, and fit?
Pad places your whole image on a white canvas at the exact target size — nothing is cut off, which is what product listings want. Crop fills the exact size by trimming the edges, keeping the center. Fit shrinks the image to sit within the target box while keeping its own proportions, so the result may be smaller than the box in one direction.
Why does the Shopify preset use 2048 × 2048?
Square keeps collection grids aligned, and 2048 pixels gives Shopify's built-in zoom enough resolution to be useful. It has been the safe recommendation for product images for years — big enough for zoom, small enough to stay fast.
Will resizing make my image blurry?
Scaling down keeps images sharp — the tool uses the browser's high-quality resampling. Scaling up cannot invent detail: a small source enlarged to 2048 pixels will look soft. If the source is small, reshoot it rather than upscale it.
Can I resize many images at once?
Yes — up to 30 at a time. Every image gets the same target size and fit, so a whole catalog batch comes out consistent.
